The Titus Rule
Titus was Dr. Skupin's much-loved Border Collie, who patiently
endured all of the changes that his 14 years of life gave him.
From working sheepdog, to vet school student's dog, to
children's pet, to clinic mascot, he was finally able to spend the
last two years of his retirement dozing on his bed, behind the
receptionist's desk at Avery Ranch Animal Hospital. Although
Titus is no longer with us, his spirit still guides the day-to-day
operations of Avery Ranch Animal Hospital
The "Titus Rule" governs every medical and policy decision
taken at Avery Ranch Animal Hospital. Before any medical
procedure, diagnostic test, or medication is ever recommended,
Dr. Skupin and the staff ask themselves whether they would
have recommended the same course of treatment for Titus.
